Vote! Vote! Vote! – Next Tuesday, October 14th, is the last day to register to vote in next month’s election. You can register on line at nvsos.gov or at 1009 E. Ninth Street, Building A, First Floor. Hours have been extended until 9pm on Monday and Tuesday to accommodate those that would like to vote in this year’s election. Mighty Women of God: The Women’s Ministry is having a Soup for the Soul Lesson entitled, Waiting on God: Hannah’s Story.  The study will be held on this Fri., Oct.17 at 7 pm in our Multi-purpose room. We need each woman who plans to attend the event to sign up in the outside foyer by Wednesday, October 15 on the sign-up sheet so we will know how much soup to serve.  Space is limited and admission to the event is free! 

ITS Logistics is currently hiring over the road drivers with 3+months experience driving a 53ft dry van. Drivers must have a CDL Class A, clean driving record, pass a drug screen, and background check. Two Becoming One ministry will meet Oct. 19th in the multipurpose room from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Our topic will be The Divorce Shield (the couple that prays together stays together), scripture will be from Amos 3:3, Matthew 18:20, 1st Peter 3:7, and John 16:24. All married couples and those planning on getting married are welcome, as we continue to enforce our marriages we can withstand the attacks of the enemy.

Attention Men! Christian Men’s Alliance will have its next meeting on Sat., Oct. 25th. You don’t want to miss the guest speaker that will minister specifically to men and our concerns. Join us at Mt. Are you an “active” member of GLCC? It’s time for our annual Ministry Faire where you will have the opportunity to find out more about the ministries at GLCC. Our Pastors would like all GLCC members to sign-up to get involved with at least one ministry, but not more than two. So join the fun on Sun. Oct. 26th after the 9 and 11a.m. services. There will be treats, surprises, and fun for all that attend.

Mark Your Calendars! Harvest Day (otherwise known as Halloween) is on Fri., Oct. 31st and the GLCC Youth Ministry will again host a party to give our kids a safe and fun way to celebrate. This year the party will be held at Jump Man Jump, 335 Edison Way in Reno. The first 50 kids are FREE! The cost is $3 per child after the first 50. Adults are $5 per person. All costs including the 50 free must include a canned good to be brought with you to the party. A parent/guardian must be available at the event to sign a release. Also, candy donations are needed to provide bags of goodies for the kids that participate. We’ll be collecting candy all month so please bring your bags and leave them in the vestibule. Soap for Hope 2014 is here and could use your help! They are looking for help from people and organizations. If you can:

  • Gather in their offices and drop it off
  • Donate and or dryers or help to pick them up with your truck
  • Help purchase large orders of laundry detergent and supplies by writing a check to People First Foundation, P.O. Box 162 Reno NV 89504. (Cause Soap for Hope)
